How do you plan to use your new RCIAA position to take Rust to the next level?

I have been working to inform Rust College students and alumni since I was editor of The Rustorian in the 1990s. My goal today is to make sure that alumni are informed. Not only do we need to know what is happening at the college, alumni should know how to get involved and where our services and resources are best directed. Only when we know can we help.

What are your fondest memories during your matriculation at Rust College?

My fondest memories involve sitting in the classroom of Dr. Ila A. Wells discussing literature and life. Not only was she a great teacher who encouraged healthy debate, Dr. Wells was the epitome of class. Not even was a contraction allowed in her presence.  Beyond the classroom, I enjoyed building lifelong relationships with my classmates and as a new member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  In many ways, Rust College sparked my interest in the world well beyond Mississippi and the United States as the institution introduced me to friends of backgrounds similar to and very different from my own.
